Transport In Malaysia

Using State train system is an excellent way to get around in Malaysia. Using the train is much better in terms of security, comfort level and fare as compared to using bus service. 

However, using bus services is the second best way of getting around in Malaysia if you don’t want to use the train. Various private bus services operate in the country regularly in each town of the country. Konsortium Transnational Berhad is the biggest bus operator in Malaysia. Although each town has a bus terminal however it’s a good idea to book the bus service in advance to avoid possible delay and related frustration. Kuala Lumpur has two main international gateways in Peninsular Malaysia, while many domestic and international flights operate regularly in Penang and Langkawi.

Weather In Malaysia

As Malaysia is located near the equator, the overall climate of this region is tropical rainforest. On the whole, in the country, the weather remains hot, humid and wet most of the time. The average temperature in Malaysia remains about 27 centigrade and the average rainfall is almost 250 centimetres. Malaysia faces two monsoon seasons, southwest (starts in late July and continue till September) and Northeast (starts in October and ends in March). For beach holidays January and February are the best months of the year to visit Malaysia while April, June and July are best to visit the east coast.

Places To Visit In Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur

  • Kuala Lumpur is the capital metropolis of Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur is famous for its shopping ranging from a wide range of small town shops to modern shopping malls. You can enjoy various foods here as this city offers lots of options from contemporary restaurants to local food stalls. If visiting Kuala Lumpur is in your bucket list don’t forget to visit Petronas Twin Towers (Building complex with 88 floors), Batu Caves (it’s a Hindu Temple set in caves) Menara Kuala Lumpur (it’s a landmark tower from where you can enjoy panoramic views of Kuala Lumpur), Sunway Lagoon Club, Petaling Jaya, Selangor (it’s an amusement park with lots of rides, games with lots of outdoor actives).

Penang

  • Penang is another worth visiting Malaysian state. Penang is full of various worth visiting places that include Penang National Park (shelters endangered animals), Cheong Fatt Tze (The Blue Mansion is a posh boutique hotel with the finest dining), Kek Lok Si (an ancient Buddhist temple of 19th century), Penang Hill ( an enchanting hill station with panoramic views) and the Snake Temple (which  houses pit vipers).

Langkawi

  • Langkawi is a Malaysian archipelago (a cluster of 99 islands in the Andaman Sea). These islands are part of Kedah state adjacent to the Thai borderline. Langkawi Cable Car offers rides with sweeping views, Tanjung Rhu Beach is a scenic beach with different resorts and beautiful sea view, Pantai Cenang is another bustling beach with lots of shops and cafes along the beachside and if you want to learn about the history of rice growing then never miss to visit Laman Padi, Langkawi which is rice growing museum. And if you wish to do trekking Skytrail Jungle Trekking is the best place here with cable car facility shops and various restaurants.

Malacca

  • Malacca City is also known as Melaka is the capital of the coastal state of Malacca (found in southwestern Malaysia).  If you plan to visit Malacca there are various must visit places that can leave you in awe. These places include the Malacca Sultanate Palace Museum (a replica of a 15th century ancient palace) exhibit ages old photos and weapons, the Famosa a family resort with theme parks and a golf course, Stadthuys is 17th century Dutch town hall which is transformed into a museum now, Christ Church is a historic protestant church with services and a Cheng Hoon Teng Temple which is an Ornate 17th century Chinese temple.
